Lindsay Hiltunen, MLIS and MA, is the University Archivist at the Michigan Technological University Archives and Copper Country Historical Collection, and also a PhD student in the Rhetoric, Theory and Culture program at the university. She is the current past Chair of the Oral History Steering Section of SAA and is the President of the Michigan Archival Association. She is also a board member for the Michigan Oral History Assoc., the Michigan State Historical Records Advisory Board, the Historical Society of Michigan, and the Quincy Mine Hoist Assoc. An avid hockey fan and public historian, she also serves as a resident oral historian on the Oral History subcommittee of the Society for International Hockey Research. She resides on the shores of Lake Superior in Michigan's beautiful Upper Peninsula and spends most of her free time in the woods or by the Big Lake with her weimaraners and partner Thomas. Hiltunen is a co-PI on a current DHC grant from CLIR to digitize roughly 40,000 employee records from the Calumet and Hecla copper mine, a collaborative project with Michigan Tech’s Social Science Department and the Keweenaw Time Traveler.
